CYCLE PROCESS OF AGING SKIN

Aging skin can occur because of changes due to age only, is called intrinsic aging / chronological aging and may also occur due to damage by chronic sun exposure causes premature aging (photoaging). In general, both processes occur simultaneously.
Changes in the skin will appear as dry skin, rough and wrinkled and sagging, may present a variety of benign tumors (seborrheic keratoses, cherry angiomas).

1.  Pruritus

Pruritus is itching and is the most common complaints in the elderly. In most cases only due to xerosis.

2. Xerosis

Xerosis is dry and rough skin that occurs in nearly all elderly. The skin becomes dry and scaly, looks like cracked porcelain, especially in the legs.
Frequent bathing makes the skin more dry. Xerosis is often accompanied by intense itching, scratching can lead to inflammation. Xerosis should be prevented with emollients.

3. Seborrheic keratosis

Seborrheic keratoses are benign skin tumors are very common in the elderly, began to arise in the fourth and fifth decade, the number increased with age, not influenced by exposure to sunlight. Seborrheic keratosis appears as patches of raised, reddish brown to black, demarcated, rough surfaces, multiple, varying in size. Numerous in the neck, chest and back, face, scalp, arms and legs.
